LAMBRATE DISTRICT – MILANO

The nearby river Lambro gives the name Lambrate to this district, initially an industrial neighborhood, reborn in the last decade thanks to Design, Art, street markets and the desire of its people to live in a modern new district.
In via Ventura, there were located some of the biggest factories of Milan: the Faema which dealt with espresso machines, the Innocenti that produced the Lambretta, Dropsa and its industrial lubricants. Of this past, only the factories remain today, within which there are now many art galleries and curious inhabited lofts on the upper floors.

Ventura Lambrate Design

Ventura Lambrate is a temporary design district, completely cared for and dedicated to the issues of planning, experimentation and to the work of emerging designers and institutions. This district is a place where designers from all over the world present ideas, products and conceptual approaches to an audience of professionals during the Milan Design Week

Ventura Lambrate is an opportunity to present the potential of the Lambrate district of Milan, a historical and evocative place, where the industrial past of the area merges with interesting requalification interventions, while its urban fabric, consisting of art galleries, creative studios, companies specializing in communication, coexisting with small local businesses, is an expression of the typical identity of the neighborhood and its ability to interact with international players and new situations.
